THOROUGHLY RESTORING AND PROTECTING HEADLIGHTS

PERMANENT HEADLIGHT RESTORATION SERVICES IN DENVER

WHY IS HEADLIGHT RESTORATION IMPORTANT?

If your vehicle is 7 years or older, it’s likely that its headlights are starting to look a bit dull and faded.

Restoring foggy or cloudy headlights is not just about the looks of your car. It’s about the safety of the people in and around the car.

Foggy or hazy headlights can make nighttime driving dangerous.

Take the following images as an example. These pictures are the result of the light transmission through a headlight before and after a headlight restoration.

Diffused headlight before headlight restoration

1

Image 1 shows light emitted from the headlight bulb getting diffused through cloudy headlights.

Focused headlight beams after headlight restoration

2

Image 2 shows light being directed to a focused point down the road. By design, this is something that optically clear housing is necessary for.

This means having foggy headlights, no matter how bright your lights are, limits how well your road view is.

Notice how in the second picture, you can clearly see that the lights are much more focused on a smaller section. Rather than being dispersed in all directions, the light beams are focused in a narrow section directly in front of the vehicle. This allows the light to travel further down the road.

Rather than spending large amounts of money on new headlights, bring them back to a like-new state with the best mobile headlight restoration service in Denver, CO.

WHY DO HEADLIGHTS GET FOGGY?

The headlights on modern vehicles are made of polycarbonate plastic as opposed to the glass material that older cars’ headlights were made out of.

Most of the time, that foggy/hazy look comes from the old and faded clear coat that is applied to the headlights from the factory.

This clear coat is applied to protect the plastic casing from UV light.

However, over time, the sun’s rays and exposure to our lovely Denver environment beat the headlight and eat up that coating.

As that coating is removed from the headlight’s casing, it can leave the plastic exposed and prone to oxidation. The end result is a foggy/hazy headlight.

Apart from all of this, headlights are on the leading edge of your car, meaning that they take the brunt of all and any debris that may come in contact with your vehicle.

Be it a small rock or random debris on the road, anything harder than the plastic casing can damage the headlight, thereby chipping away at the clear coat, and causing a cascading effect that speeds up the fogging-up process.

We at Denver Auto Spa reapply this UV protection in the form of a long lasting clear bra that guarantees crystal clear headlights for over 10-years!

HEADLIGHT RESTORATION FAQS

Can you do mobile headlight restorations?

Yes! We offer headlight restoration services and are fully equipped to do so. We service any home or office with a usable electrical power outlet and a garage that we can work in.

Can you do a headlight restoration to my car in any weather conditions?

The most common answer we can give you is: no. We cannot offer any headlight restoration services with medium to high wind or if rain or snow is present. However, if you have a usable garage and are willing to let us use it, then we can work with you to complete the headlight restoration service.

What if I don’t have access to electricity?

At this time we do not have our own electricity, so that is the only thing we ask from you. We are working on this and will be able to service any location in the near future.

How long does a headlight restoration service take?

Depending on the size and the starting condition of your car’s headlights, a headlight restoration service can take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours including the UV protectant.

Can you restore my headlights back to 100%, like-new condition?

The short answer is no. Headlights are on the leading edge of your car, meaning they take the brunt of everything our lovely Denver roads throw at them. That being said, rocks and other random road debris can chip away at your headlights causing permanent damage to the plastic housing. Although a 100% clarity outcome is unlikely, we do our absolute best to get your headlights back to their best possible clarity.

What if I don’t want a UV protectant installed after the headlight restoration?

It is likely that your headlights will fog back up within MONTHS if you don’t apply any UV protection. That is why we offer ceramic coating and clear bra as UV protection. The ceramic coating we use is rated to last for up to a year. Clear bra is great at reducing UV damage to not only your headlights but to your car’s paintwork as well. Clear bra is able to give 10 years of UV protection plus the added benefit of rock chip protection.
