THOROUGHLY REMOVING SWIRL MARKS AND RESTORING PAINT WORK

PAINT CORRECTION IN DENVER

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the act of removing or reducing surface-level swirls or scratches from a car’s paint via buffing or polishing.

When you hear or read the term “paint correction” that is just the modern or fancy way of saying buff and polish.

If your car has swirls or scratches, the best way to remove them without repainting is by getting a paint correction service performed.

“How is this different from applying a wax or a sealant to my car?” you might ask.

While waxes and sealants only fill those scratches, when you get a paint correction, you are physically removing a small layer of your car’s clear coat in which the scratches are rather than just hiding them or applying a sort of makeup over them that will go away within a month.

A neat bi-product of getting a paint correction service is that your car’s paint gets its clarity and gloss restored.

Who should get a paint correction service done?

Even though we can remove most swirls and scratches permanently, it doesn’t mean that you won’t get any more scratches or swirls in the future.

In a way, this service takes some sort of long-term commitment. In order to maintain your car’s shine and scratch-free paint, you have to take some precautions when washing and drying it.

If you get a paint correction service and instantly drive up to your local automatic car wash with the spinning bristles, then you’ll just put a brand new set of swirls and scratches right back onto your car’s paint.

This is why we typically only recommend this service to the following people:

  • Those who want to keep their car’s paint looking like new and can make a commitment to wash and dry their vehicle in a specific manner

  • Those who just bought a car and want that “new car” feeling

  • Those that are looking to sell their car and want to add an extra level of pop to attract potential buyers

  • Those wanting to take their car to a car show or a concourse

Types of paint correction

All that being said, not all scratches will come out from your car’s paint. This is because the scratch may be too deep to remove safely with even modern paint correction techniques.

Here at Denver Auto Spa, we offer 3 levels of paint correction:

  • Single-stage polish (1-step paint correction)

  • Paint enhancement (2-step paint correction)

  • Full correction (3-step paint correction)

This set of services requires time and energy to complete properly. This can take anywhere from 7 hours to a total of 36 hours depending on the desired outcome, starting condition of your car’s paint, the color of your car, and the size of your vehicle. We narrow those times down and give a more thorough breakdown of what each level includes in the pricing descriptions below.

The best way to minimize or reduce the number of scratches you put on your car is by hand washing with a 2-bucket method and by using quality tools and products.
