What is a Clear Bra?

Clear bra is known by a wide variety of names like paint protection film, PPF, clear mask, clear wrap, and even invisible shield.

It is a product that is made of plastic, namely, thermoplastic polyurethane which typically comes in sheets that can be applied to a smooth surface to protect it from damage.

A clear bra is a preventative measure against impacts or things that may cause damage to a surface. This can be anything that may scuff, cause marring, or stain something. In the car world, this can be rock chips, road debris, bugs, and insects.

Over the years, clear bra has proven to be the very best way to protect a car’s front end from damage from rock chips, scratches, swirls, and other minor body damage out performing ceramic coatings.

Since clear bra is a preventative measure, it is important to note that clear bra does not fix or hide any previous body or paint damage.

Any rock chips that are already present on your vehicle’s paintwork will be magnified and actually stand out more because of clear bra. This is why we recommend getting clear bra installed on new(er) vehicles as opposed to waiting until you start to see rock chips on your car.
